Saratoga County resident Brianna Craig was found dead at her Saratoga Springs apartment on Vanderbilt Avenue at around 6:40 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6.

After speaking with neighbors, detectives identified Craig’s ex-boyfriend, 31-year-old Sebastian Mabb, as a person of interest in the case. Officers found him nearly 90 minutes later and detained him without incident.

Following an interview with police, Mabb was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder.

On Friday, Feb. 9, police revealed that a preliminary autopsy report found that Craig died of asphyxiation. The report will not be made final until a toxicology report has been completed.

Investigators did not speculate on a possible motive for the killing.

Mabb remained locked up at the Saratoga County jail. He was scheduled to make his initial appearance in Saratoga Springs City Court on Friday morning.

Detectives are asking anyone with information in the case to contact the Saratoga Springs Police Department at 518-584-1800.
